We made it back from our cycling vacation in what is called the Heart of Europe. Our travels brought us first to Berlin where we spent a few days sightseeing and recovering from jet lag. We walked and toured by ICE train, bus, subway, and boat and thoroughly enjoyed those first few days. If I told you I take a few photos, that would be an understatement. My desktop computer is now acting funny since I downloaded the images... almost 3000! Most are not what you would consider vacation photos!
Let's start... here DH and I are in front of the Brandenburg gates. I won't bore you with more photos of us or tedious descriptions of what you're looking at, but you'll see...
The remains of the Berlin wall...
Castles...
Flowers...
Ironwork...
Roofs...
Decorations...
Patterns...
Statues...
Steeples and weather vanes...
Walls...
This was disconcerting... flood markers! We prayed for good weather...
From the hilltop castle in Cochem, we spied our barge down below... The Iris! We were anxious to start cycling.
I do hope you enjoyed a little bit of Germany. Once I get the computer to behave normally, I will share more views of the Moselle valley.
Toodles,
Lorette
