Nannette's careful collection of batiks took her 2 years and then she logged many long hours of sewing to create this beauty.
The fabrics used in each star "color family" were used twice, reversing the colors in the second star. It made the colors dance across the quilt.
Her careful color placement of the sashing strips enhanced the design.
Look what I spied... these snowmen faces are too cute!
LOVE these swirly fabrics!
She chose Vanilla Cream pantograph by Anne Bright as she wanted swirls to complement the swirls in the fabrics. The thread is FilTec Warm Grey 4 which is a lovely bone color.
Her mother came to watch her quilt and when not doing that, she knitted stockings and caught up on her book club reading.
What a beauty Nannette... it's gorgeous and you did a fabulous job quilting it.
The batik back is very pretty...
It will be beautiful on that handmade bed!
Toodles,
Lorette
